Pals Tutors-Elementary School

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Is at least 21 years of age.
2. Possesses a high school diploma or GED certificate.
3. Accurately follows oral and written directions
4. Effectively controls a group independent of an immediate supervisor.
5. Previous school based experience with children preferred, but not required.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Assist classroom teacher(s) in performing specific duties as assigned or undertaking specialized tasks to achieve and enhance instruction objectives.
2. Possesses general knowledge, practices, methods used in teaching.
3. Records test data as needed and uses to guide instruction as assigned.
4. Works with small groups or individuals to reinforce materials introduced by teacher(s).
5. Provides programmed practice activities and repetitions.
6. Works with computers to assist students’ problems (instructional or behavioral).
7. Advises teacher(s) on students’ problems (instructional or behavioral).
8. Maintains confidentiality of student and school-related information.
9. Participates in in-service training programs as assigned.
10. Performs other duties as required by assigned teacher(s) or principal.

Terms of employment:  Part Time     Hourly Rate: $9.38
