       Middle School STEAM Team Exploratory Teacher: Technology

 

Preferred Qualifications:

     1. Possesses or qualifies for a Virginia license to teach with an endorsement in Technology

         Education.

     2. Possesses knowledge and skills in the following areas: 

  • using basic touch keyboarding skill to complete a variety of projects incorporating wordprocessing, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software;
  • demonstrate basic coding skills and ability to introduce basic coding concepts to students to produce a student centered-project;
  • basic internet safety and computer maintenance;
  • using Digital Input Technologies o introduce new and emerging input devices(e.g.,speech-and handwriting recognition software, tablets, cloud computing software application, headsets/microphones, digital cameras, digital video cameras, mobile devices, keyboard, mice, animation and gaming);

     3. Demonstrate enthusiasm for the teaching and learning profession.

     4. Demonstrate the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working

         effectively with students, school personnel, parents, and member of the school

         community.

 

The Vision of the Science Technology Engineering Art Math (STEAM) Exploratory program is to provide:

  • activities that engage students in project based learning environment;
  • thought provoking - open ended inquiry, problem solving approaches to learning;
  • opportunities for student centered inquiry and reflection;
  • a global awareness of STEAM needs and how STEAM skills can positively impact our community;
  • prepares students for STEAM based careers;
  • creativity that provides richer experiences for middle school students;
  • opportunities to build knowledge and skills across grade levels.

 

SALARY BASED ON THE 2017-2018 TEACHERS SALARY SCALE WITH ZERO EXPERIENCE
