Cafeteria Manager
Max Meadows Elementary School
Preferred Qualifications:
- Is at least 21 years of age and possesses a high school diploma or GED certificate and some experience in food preparation.
- Possess the knowledge and skills to plan and supervise cafeteria workers.
- Possess the physical stamina to withstand temperature variances common to food service facilities.
- Can tolerate continuous standing, walking, bending, and moderate lifting. Is physically able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Is able to communicate effectively and can get along positively with students, school employees, and co-workers.
- Is able to effectively perform the various duties as specified in this job announcement.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Plans menus and ensures that food items are served in quantities according to accepted dietary principles and the number of persons to be served.
- Orders food and supplies, receives and accounts for same, and maintains perpetual inventory as well as cost and food consumption records.
- Inspects cafeteria equipment, storeroom, food, and employees to maintain proper sanitation and operation.
- Instruct cafeteria workers in the operation of equipment and use of utensils and in the preparation, cooking, and serving of food.
- Oversees and coordinates the cleaning and maintenance of culinary utensils, equipment, and working areas.
- Maintains income and expenditure records.
- Collects, records, and accounts for monies received from patrons.
- Maintains roster relating to free and reduced-price meals.
- Maintains records required by local, state, and federal auditors and health inspectors.
- Supervises, schedules, and evaluates cafeteria staff members.
- Opens and closes cafeteria.
- Maintains confidentiality of cafeteria and school-related information.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the Food Service Coordinator and principal.
Terms of Employment: 184 days per year
Work hours per day vary according to school
Salary based on the Cafeteria Salary Scale
