JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

 

To provide division wide leadership in developing, implementing, and maintaining effective and efficient operational support programs and services to achieve school division goals and objectives.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Holds a graduate degree from an accredited college or university (Doctorate preferred), a postgraduate professional license, and an endorsement in school administration.
  2. Has at least five (5) years of successful experience as a Central Office Administrator. Demonstrates the aptitude and ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the job.
  3. Demonstrates the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school personnel and various citizens of the community.

REPORTS TO:   Superintendent of Schools

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

A. Building and Grounds:

 

  1. Prepares, implements, revises, and updates the preventive maintenance plan.
  2. Upgrades the quality of workers through careful selection and training.
  3. Improves the efficiency of heating and utility systems for all buildings.
  4. Maintains a system for competitive review of each school.
  5. Establishes objectives and strategies to manage all matters that deal with Building Maintenance, School Plant Services, and Custodial Services.
  6. Assists in the development of plans for Capital Improvement Program renovations and alterations to buildings.
  7. Assists in planning new construction.
  8. Reviews and approves for payment, bills submitted by building contractors, testing labs, consulting engineers, surveying firms, and architectural firms.
  9. Directs the review of a Comprehensive Safety Program.
  10. Enforces compliance with occupational health and safety codes and standards.
  11. Established objectives and strategies to manage all matters that deal with Community Use of School Facilities.

 

B. Business Management

 

  1. Improves efficiency through staff training.
  2. Works with cafeteria personnel to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of cafeteria operations.
  1. Researches insurance plans and makes recommendations.
  2. Prepares and submits to the Superintendent of Schools estimates and analysis of revenues anticipated from federal, state, and local sources.
  3. Evaluates financial systems.
  4. Studies proposed state and federal legislation and maintains an understanding of laws and regulations pertaining to the business and financial affairs of the school division.
  5. Develops, implements, and administers an efficient purchasing program.
  6. Inducts and evaluates selective licensed and classified personnel for effective performance and growth.
  7. Evaluate and/or assist in the evaluation of administrators, supervisors, principals, and classified employees as necessary.

C. Transportation:

 

  1. Works with the Transportation Director to maintain a plan for upgrading the bus fleet and the vehicle pool.
  2. Plans and executes an annual auction of surplus vehicles, equipment, and materials.
  3. Works with Transportation Director to project annually, the needed vehicles, equipment, and materials.
  4. Maintains a safety training program for students.

 

D. Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.

 

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 

            Twelve-month contract. Salary to be established by the school board.

 

EVALUATION:

 

Performance on this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the school board policy and administrative regulations for the eval

 

 

 

 

Performance Responsibilities:  Duties typical of the job title above.

Terms of Employment: Twelve (12) month contract.

               

 

Salary: According to experience and qualifications as applied to salary scale.
